About the position
The Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Huang Lab at the University of Illinois Chicago focuses on conducting advanced research in the fields of wound healing and exosome-mediated tissue regeneration. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Principal Investigator and other lab researchers to design research objectives.
- Test, optimize, and implement both new and existing methods/techniques.
- Develop comprehensive laboratory protocols while maintaining accurate records of the work performed.
- Generate data, compile figures, and draft documents for grant applications and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
- Supervise and train others in specialized tasks.
- Maintain lab notebook.
- Present research findings at national/scientific conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- PhD in sciences, engineering, or other related health science fields.
- Must be within the first 3 years of receiving their PhD/Doctorate degree.
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology.
- Proficient in lab research techniques such as cell culture of primary cells, western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, RT-PCR, and immunohistochemical analysis.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in handling rodents and isolating primary cells.
- Proficiency in using fluorescent microscopy.
- Experience with cloning and gene-editing techniques.
