About the position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Texas A&M University Health Science Center involves conducting advanced research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, focusing on epigenetic studies related to metabolic diseases. The role requires collaboration with a research team, effective communication with project stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple projects while supporting the overall objectives of the lab. The successful candidate will contribute to a high-volume research environment and will be expected to maintain meticulous records of findings and present research outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo epigenetic studies on metabolic and other diseases.
  • Communicate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and collaborators to ensure alignment of project objectives.
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews to stay updated on relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all research findings.
  • Generate, display, and interpret research results.
  • Lead projects with confidence and proper organization.
  • Actively participate as a member of a research team and contribute to relevant meetings.
  • Present research findings to colleagues and at conferences.
  • Write progress reports and organize data.
  • Prepare the laboratory for experiments, including preparation of solutions and cleaning work areas.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience leading multiple projects and supervising students.
  • Experience working with individuals and communities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Demonstrated ability through publications on metabolic diseases including diabetes or obesity or pregnancy complications.
  • Epigenetic knowledge.
  • Expertise in mouse studies (preferably KO mice) and colony management.
  • Expertise in technical writing.
