About the position
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurology is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Research Scholar to provide scientific and technical leadership in research focused on the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The position involves collaboration with other researchers and requires expertise in various research methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct behavioral assays in rodent transgenic models
- Perform fiber photometry
- Execute histology/immunohistochemistry/ELISA/Western blot
- Carry out neuronal ensemble recordings
- Utilize optogenetics
- Conduct rodent MR spectroscopy imaging
- Perform rodent PET imaging
- Engage in transcriptomics research
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in MATLAB or R
- Track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications, including at least one first-author publication, in neuroscience
