About the position

The Postsecondary Success Navigator (PSN) is a full-time role at Partners for Rural Impact, responsible for facilitating successful transitions for students from high school to postsecondary education or careers. The PSN will maintain a caseload of students needing additional support, collaborate with various stakeholders, and ensure effective implementation of postsecondary services. The position aims to remove barriers to student success and promote the mission of ensuring that all rural students succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of postsecondary students to provide academic, social, and transition support.
  • Work both in-person and virtually with students to teach skills and coordinate supports for postsecondary success.
  • Create a personal development plan for each student to enhance skills for postsecondary readiness.
  • Ensure documentation and records of services are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement the Perkins Innovation and Modernization grant.
  • Assess needs of students and families and evaluate the program's impact, modifying services as necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison with grant partners and ensure they understand their roles.
  • Communicate the PIM mission and vision to the community, parents, staff, and students.
  • Plan and implement events related to advising, career visits, college visits, and family engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in education or related field.
  • Experience in college and/or career access and understanding of skills needed for college and career readiness.
  • Community engagement experience.
  • Skills in coordinating a multi-faceted program.
  • Evidence of effectively coordinating with rural schools and communities.
  • Understanding of first-generation, low-income youth.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in rural schools and communities.
  • Understanding of Perkins Innovation and Modernization (PIM).
  • Desire to develop innovative approaches to meet outcomes.
  • Event planning experience.
