About the position
We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated and timely team player as a Powder Coat Operator in our Savannah Factory. This position is responsible for spraying surfaces of manufactured products with protective or decorative material, such as powder paint, using a spray gun and helping with hanging and removing components from the paint conveyor line as needed. The Powder Coat Operator maintains and cleans all spray equipment with solvent or similar cleaner.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff to properly and accurately hang parts on paint line
- Perform pre-coat quality inspection ensuring items are free of machine markings and meet surface preparation expectations.
- Conduct system color changes
- Inspect parts for quality defects, measure mil thicknesses, other quality tests
- Assist with loading and unloading of paint line
- Monitor equipment for reliability and safety
- Monitors powder coating equipment to ensure machine readings are within specified tolerances.
- Receive and cycle count paint powder
- Work in a fast-paced environment keeping safety and quality top of mind
Requirements
- Quality consciousness: consistently meets quality & production standards
- Knowledge of startup and shut down procedures of paint line
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Good attendance record
- Physical dexterity, ability to be active on the job
- Must understand the importance of maintaining a safe work environment
- Proficient computers knowledge
- Good communication, organizational and time-management skills
- Shows initiative, desire to learn
- Steel-toed shoes required
- Available for overtime
