About the position

The Power BI Admin position is a critical role requiring extensive experience in managing and configuring the Power BI platform, specifically Power BI Server and Desktop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Power BI services, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various teams to optimize performance and governance. This role demands a strong technical background in Power BI administration, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage Power BI settings and resources, specifically Power BI Service (cloud setup).
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Work with the vendor to resolve major or minor issues that may block users from accessing the application.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to Power BI administration.
• Integrate other applications on Windows Servers with the Power BI application.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the system is running smoothly.
• Define governance approaches and provide business and technical expertise for objectives such as gateway setups, capacity, license planning, optimization, and data modeling.
• Assist in setting up automations using APIs and CI/CD implementation.
• Perform independent analysis and problem resolution assignments related to the application.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Power BI administration.
• Strong understanding of the Power BI platform, including Power BI Server and Desktop.
• Knowledge of Windows Server environment and integration with Power BI.
• Experience with Power BI Service (cloud setup) and Microsoft Fabric Administration.
• Familiarity with Azure and data connections in Power BI.

• Knowledge of other BI tools and a willingness to learn new techniques for efficient administration.
