About the position

Computershare is seeking a permanent full-time Power BI Administrator to join our Corporate Trust (CCT) team. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, requiring three days a week in the office at one of our locations in Minneapolis, MN; Columbia, MD; or Charlotte, NC. The Power BI Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the Power BI application to meet the corporate business needs. The primary focus will be on Power BI administration, providing technical guidance and consultation to application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers. This role is part of a cross-functional Agile delivery team that creates customer-oriented solutions aligned with Computershare's overall strategy and values. In this role, you will provide leadership in Power BI administration and oversee the dashboard and reports development life cycle, which includes technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support for the Resiliency Solutions portfolio. You will also be responsible for configuring environment settings, controlling Power BI tenant features, and managing user access and permissions. Additionally, you will work closely with Business Analysts and end users to evaluate business requirements and advise on appropriate informative views and dashboards. Your contributions will ensure the successful delivery and support of high visibility reports across desktop, mobile, and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and possess a curious mindset, continuously seeking to learn and implement innovative solutions. Attention to detail and a rigorous approach to problem-solving are essential. You will also be expected to monitor and optimize Power BI performance, configure and manage gateways for on-premise data sources, and maintain governance policies and security standards within the Power Platform environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Power BI application to meet corporate business needs.
  • Provide leadership in Power BI administration and the dashboard/reports development life cycle.
  • Configure environment settings, including security, data policies, and connection references.
  • Control Power BI tenant features, activity logs, and monitor usage.
  • Conduct capacity planning of shared infrastructure and work with infrastructure teams to execute upgrades.
  • Deliver and support high visibility reports across desktop, mobile, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and end users to evaluate business requirements and advise on dashboards.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and configure Power BI Reports and Apps based on business requirements.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of Power BI solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to end-users for effective adoption of Power BI solutions.
  • Manage deployments and set guidelines for team using Power BI.
  • Manage user access and permissions to Power Platform applications and resources.
  • Configure and enforce security policies to protect data and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain governance policies, best practices, and security standards for the Power Platform environment.
  • Monitor and manage Power Platform licenses to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Monitor and optimize Power BI performance.
  • Configure and manage gateways for on-premise data sources.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Power BI development and administration experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop.
  • Experience in creating visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Ability to manage sometimes conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Curious and continuous learner, able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to work with limited guidance.
  • Attention to detail and a rigorous approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Oracle and SQL server ANSI-SQL is preferred.
  • Ability to build pipeline to publish & promote reports is preferred.
