About the position

As the Power BI Analyst at Galileo Learning, you will play a crucial role in harnessing the power of data analytics to develop comprehensive reports and visualizations that enhance decision-making processes within the organization. This position requires a collaborative spirit, exceptional communication skills, and a strong technical background in data analysis and visualization. You will be accountable for several key areas, including data analysis and visualization, technical execution, and collaboration and communication with various stakeholders. In the realm of data analysis and visualization, you will be responsible for developing interactive dashboards that meet organizational needs, identifying and understanding business requirements within the context of Business Intelligence (BI), and establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and achieve specific objectives. Your technical execution will involve developing, testing, and deploying Power BI scripts, utilizing DAX queries for advanced data manipulation, and constructing and maintaining a data warehouse to consolidate various data sources. Collaboration and communication are essential aspects of this role. You will perform data analysis and present findings in clear, concise reports to support strategic decisions. Additionally, you will translate business requirements into technical specifications and work closely with senior leaders, including the CFO, to define and align on data needs and project goals. Responsibilities

  • Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to meet organizational needs.
  • Identify and understand business requirements within the context of Business Intelligence (BI) and develop data models to turn raw data into actionable insights.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and achieve specific objectives.
  • Develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, conducting in-depth analyses to ensure efficiency.
  • Utilize DAX queries and functions within Power BI for advanced data manipulation.
  • Construct and maintain a data warehouse to consolidate various data sources and employ SQL queries to extract and analyze data effectively.
  • Perform data analysis and present findings in clear, concise reports to support strategic decisions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, outlining timelines for project milestones.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, including the CFO, to define and align on data needs and project goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence, with an emphasis on financial analysis.
  • Proven experience with BI tools and systems, particularly Power BI.
  • Strong background in data analysis and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft BI Stack and proficiency in MSSQL Server BI Stack tools and technologies such as SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, and DAX.
  • Understanding of key financial concepts and the ability to apply them in data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust with stakeholders and resolve system-related challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or Finance is a plus but not required.
  • Having worked in summer camps, education or similar organizations is a plus!
