About the position

The Power BI Design Specialist at Dynamic Systems, Inc. (DSI) is responsible for transforming data into visually compelling Power BI reports that aid in organizational decision-making. This role involves collaborating with the BI Developer to enhance report designs, integrating additional data sources, and ensuring reports are well-documented and aligned with business needs. The position offers growth potential in data modeling and configuration, emphasizing strong design skills and ongoing maintenance of reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI reports from existing semantic models, producing engaging, user-focused reports.
• Integrate external data sources and collaborate with the BI Developer to adjust data models as needed.
• Suggest and implement design improvements for user-friendly and accessible reports.
• Document Power BI workflows, dependencies, and data models for clear references.
• Maintain and update Visio diagrams to visualize data flows and dependencies.
• Collaborate with the BI Developer and Data Engineer to communicate design needs and data-related challenges effectively.
• Manage post-deployment requests and modifications to maintain report accuracy and relevance.
• Address audience-specific configuration adjustments to ensure report usability.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop with a strong foundation in data visualization and report design.
• Experience working with ERP systems, accounting, or construction-related data.
• Knowledge of documentation tools like Visio for mapping data flows and model relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Analytics, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in Power BI reporting, report design, or a similar role.
