About the position

Cepoch is seeking an expert Power BI developer for a 6-month contract position that offers a fully remote work environment. The primary focus of this role is to create professional, portal-ready visualizations using Power BI, ensuring that the outputs are visually captivating and intuitive for users. The developer will be responsible for setting up and configuring Power BI, connecting it with AWS Big Data repositories, and defining security measures for data access. Additionally, the role involves designing dashboards for go-to-market teams and clients, providing guidance on best practices, and migrating existing reports from Qlik to Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Create professional, portal-ready versions of charts and tables using Power BI.
• Develop visually captivating and intuitive visualizations for portal use.
• Setup and configure Power BI and connect with AWS Big Data repository.
• Define security for the system and implement row-level permissions for data access.
• Design and define Power BI dashboards for go-to-market teams and clients.
• Provide high-level guidance on standards and best practices.
• Migrate existing reports and dashboards from Qlik to Power BI.
• Configure Power BI embedded analytics into a React-based application.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of Power BI reporting and dashboarding experience, including development and administration.
• Expertise in Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View, etc.
• SQL data experience of 4+ years.
• Ability to create and publish complex reports.
• Big Data experience of 2+ years.
• Knowledge of Power BI Access/Security Best practices.
• Mastery of themes for both reports and dashboards.
• Experience integrating Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics or API.
• Expertise in developing custom visuals in Power BI.
• Ability to implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
• Proficient in making DAX queries.

• Expertise in migrating from other BI platforms to Power BI.
• Strong communication skills for direct interaction with business users.
