About the position

The Power BI Developer role in West Sacramento, CA, is focused on creating and optimizing SQL reports and data integration solutions for a large enterprise-wide system, particularly in the context of Government Pension Administration systems. The position requires extensive experience in report development, data modeling, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a strong emphasis on using Microsoft tools and technologies such as Power BI and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Create and fine-tune SQL reports from various relational databases.
• Design robust Logical Data Models and ensure alignment with roadmap goals.
• Develop, debug, and support complex data integration interfaces and processes.
• Execute and test batch jobs for enterprise-wide systems.
• Monitor report performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• At least five (5) years of experience as a reports developer creating SQL reports.
• Five (5) years of experience in designing and developing data integration processes using SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL, and SQL Server.
• Five (5) years of experience with SDLC methodologies and requirements analysis.
• Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft products/tools including Power BI and SQL Server.
• Two (2) years of experience executing and testing batch jobs for large systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing SQL Reports for Pension Administration Systems.
• Three (3) or more years of experience with requirement elicitation methodologies.
• Experience in Data Integration, Data Conversion, and ETL.
• Experience with source code management software like Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Experience with Test Application Lifecycle Management tools such as HP ALM or Jama.
