About the position

We are seeking a highly experienced Power BI Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key player in our data visualization strategy, leading the design and development of complex, interactive reports and dashboards that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. The Power BI Developer will be responsible for the development and implementation of advanced Power BI solutions, utilizing DAX and best practices. You will partner with business stakeholders to uncover their data needs and translate them into clear, actionable insights. This position requires a deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema design and dimensional modeling, as well as mastery of DAX, with the ability to write highly optimized queries. In addition to technical skills, the role involves championing the adoption of Power BI within the organization, mentoring and training colleagues, and collaborating effectively with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration with existing systems. You will also be responsible for sourcing, cleaning, and transforming data from diverse sources, upholding data integrity throughout the process, and implementing robust data security measures to govern data access within Power BI. Staying at the forefront of the Power BI landscape by actively researching and implementing new features and functionalities is also a key aspect of this role. Documentation of work processes and reports with exceptional clarity and detail is essential to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced Power BI solutions, utilizing DAX and best practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
  • Extensive experience designing and deploying complex Power BI reports and dashboards for enterprise-level needs.
  • In-depth understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema design and dimensional modeling.
  • Mastery of DAX, with the ability to write highly optimized queries.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions.
  • Solid experience with data cleansing and transformation techniques.
  • Deep understanding of data security best practices and the ability to implement them within Power BI.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • A passion for data visualization and effectively communicating insights through compelling visuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Power BI certification.
  • Experience with Azure Analysis Services (AAS).
  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
