About the position

The Power BI Developer will be responsible for providing end-to-end solutions for various projects utilizing On-Premises SQL Server, Azure cloud technologies, and Power BI Desktop. This role involves building and maintaining data dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide insights into key business metrics, while also collaborating with various teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and maintain data dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insight into key business metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows through automation.
  • Work closely with department leaders to understand business needs.
  • Design technical details of data engineering jobs/processes to fulfill business needs.
  • Actively contribute towards setting up and refining data engineering best practices.
  • Help data architect adhere to coding standards, best practices, etc. and produce production deployable code that is robust, scalable, and reusable.
  • Support and troubleshoot the data environments, tune performance, etc.
  • Capture and analyze business requirements to design data models and build data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Collaborate with business partners and technical teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and security.
  • Evaluate new data sources and tools to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience working with Power BI, SQL.
  • Working experience with On-Premises and Cloud technologies using SQL, Azure Technologies, Power BI and DAX.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience working with python or powershell to build API pipelines to import data.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining SQL Server Agent Jobs and Windows Scheduler Jobs.
  • Knowledge of database technologies, data warehouses.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills; comfort and competence in dealing with different teams within the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

  • Any experience working with python is a plus.
  • Prior experience in financial services risk and regulatory reporting is preferred.
