About the position

Chevron is seeking an intermediate Software Engineer (Level IV) to join the CSCM platform team. The role involves full-stack software engineering, participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies, and developing software systems within Chevron's IT environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Power BI, Python, and Azure services, and will contribute to the automation and scheduling of reports and dashboards in the oil and gas domain.

Responsibilities

• Modify existing databases and database management systems.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

Requirements

• Power BI with scheduling experience, specifically using Power BI Reports Scheduler.
• Experience developing in Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Service, SQL Service, Azure Functions, virtual machines).
• Experience in CI/CD DevOps environments with automated software deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Experience writing quality and tested code that is documented.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.
• 5-7 years of experience required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing support tickets in a formal ticket management system, like Support Now.
• Automation and low-code development experience (i.e. Power Apps, Power BI).
• Experience with SQL-style databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL queries and scripts.
• Development of Ansible Pipelines for Automated Azure deployments.
• Working knowledge of ADO, Azure Boards, Azure Pipelines, Azure Repos, Ansible, Artifactory etc.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Test Automation frameworks (Protractor or Selenium preferred).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm etc.).
• Experience with the Azure SDK in C# or Python.
