About the position

The Power BI Developer position at Capital Staffing Solutions focuses on heavy reporting and data visualization using Power BI. The role involves analyzing business practices, documenting processes, and performing application lifecycle activities including coding, testing, and debugging software applications. The developer will also provide support for operational activities, coordinate with vendors, and offer guidance to less experienced staff while ensuring excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workflow studies and analyze business practices.
• Document existing processes related to IT solutions.
• Perform application lifecycle activities including coding, monitoring, maintaining, testing, and debugging software applications.
• Follow established change management processes and facilitate code reviews.
• Develop test plans and make recommendations for hardware/software solutions.
• Create, document, schedule, and support operational activities.
• Coordinate with software vendors and external service providers.
• Troubleshoot software bugs and provide fixes.
• Provide off-hours support as needed.
• Build wireframes and design Power BI dashboards.
• Point Power BI to the data warehouse, including facts and dimensions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science.
• 5 years of relevant technology experience.
• 3 years of experience with Power BI reporting.
• 3 years of experience with data warehousing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Cognos and Tableau.
• Experience in a higher education technology environment.
• Knowledge of UNIX and .NET.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $91K - $115K per year.
• Full-time contract position with expected 40 hours per week.
