About the position

The Power BI Developer role involves designing and developing reports and dashboards using the Power BI suite to meet the needs of business stakeholders. The position requires collaboration with data engineers and analysts to ensure data is properly acquired, cleaned, and transformed for effective reporting. The developer will also provide training and support to end users, ensuring compliance with data security best practices and keeping up-to-date with the latest Power BI features.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business stakeholders' needs.
• Gathering and understanding business requirements for data visualization and analysis.
• Collaborating with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes.
• Developing self-service models and data analytics using Power BI service.
• Ensuring data security and compliance with best practices.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues in Power BI reports.
• Providing training and support to end users on using Power BI.
• Documenting data sources, data transformations, and report logic for future reference.
• Developing user guides and documentation for end-users.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and trends.
• Coordinating with the off-shore team to prioritize report development and moves to production.
• Providing ongoing support and training to users on Power BI tools and customized data analytics apps.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation.
• Strong understanding of database management systems, OLAP, ETL frameworks, SQL queries, SSRS, and SSIS.
• Experience with development and support of Microsoft Power Apps.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability to changing business requirements.
