About the position

The Power BI Developer will play a crucial role in creating interactive reports and dashboards that provide insights for key business decisions. This position requires extensive experience in Power BI and SQL, focusing on delivering internal projects by transforming requirements into data models and ensuring performance and security standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Work independently under the Product Manager to deliver internal projects by turning requirements into data models, reports, and dashboards.
• End-to-end dashboard creation, including product owner communication, tracking development timelines, and testing work.
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with the Product Manager to learn and apply data schemas, metrics, and visual standards.
• Collaborate with BAs and the Product Manager to refine technical requirements.
• Work with the data engineering and data architecture team to ensure data flows and availability.
• Design and implement interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI, following best practices and standards.
• Include drill-through, drill-down, and tool-tips for end-user interaction.
• Ensure reports meet performance benchmarks and configure appropriate refresh schedules.
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and conduct unit tests, working with QA/QC and conducting UAT.
• Document data models, report structures, and logic used in data product development.
• Participate in daily stand-ups.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of overall development experience.
• 5+ years of Power BI development demonstrating advanced skills.
• 8+ years of SQL experience modeling data and writing complex queries.
• Extensive experience with Power BI, including Bookmarks, Custom Visuals, and Field parameters.
• Proficient in GIT for version control.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Object-Oriented Framework development.
• Familiarity with Miro.
