About the position

CTG is seeking an experienced and passionate PowerBI Developer to join M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work two days a week while providing opportunities for in-person collaboration at the Buffalo Tech Hub. The PowerBI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable PowerBI solutions, requiring extensive hands-on experience in creating complex reports and dashboards, data modeling, and leveraging the full capabilities of the PowerBI platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy PowerBI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to meet business requirements.
• Focus on requests to provide detailed and accurate reporting solutions that support decision-making processes and comply with audit requirements.
• Lead the end-to-end process of PowerBI solution development, including data integration, transformation, and modeling.
• Create and optimize complex queries for efficient data retrieval and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights through reports and dashboards.
• Perform data analysis, troubleshooting, and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and performance of PowerBI solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, ensuring best practices in PowerBI development and data visualization.
• Stay up to date with the latest PowerBI features and enhancements, incorporating new functionality into existing solutions.
• Assist in migrating legacy BI systems to PowerBI, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
• Maintain and update existing PowerBI reports and dashboards based on changing business needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' combined higher education and/or work experience in PowerBI Development.
• Demonstrated advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in PowerBI.
• Expertise in PowerBI and related technologies, including data modeling, query optimization, and reporting.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into high-quality PowerBI solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Data Analytics.
• Advanced knowledge of PowerBI technologies and best practices.
• Experience in working with a diverse range of stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Familiarity with server/client and virtual technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
