About the position

The Power BI Developer role at Insight Global is focused on creating critical financial reports for C-suite executives, including the CEO and CFO. This position is essential for delivering actionable insights that drive strategic decisions, requiring deep expertise in data modeling and report development. The developer will work closely with the Finance Data and Analytics Director and collaborate with financial analysts and business leaders to ensure accurate representation and effective communication of financial data through high-quality dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Power BI reports and dashboards tailored for senior executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with financial analysts and business leaders to gather and interpret requirements for reporting needs.
  • Develop robust data models that support scalable and reliable financial reporting.
  • Transform complex financial data into clear, insightful visualizations and KPIs that facilitate executive-level decision-making.
  • Implement best practices for data visualization and user experience, optimizing report performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through the creation of efficient data validation and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain and update existing Power BI reports as needed, adapting to evolving business requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for Power BI end-users, including troubleshooting and training.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in Power BI and data modeling practices to enhance the reporting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in developing Power BI solutions.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data models, including data transformations using Power Query (M language) and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
  • Strong knowledge of financial metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in integrating Power BI with various data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, cloud databases, and other relevant sources.
  • Experience in data visualization best practices to effectively communicate financial insights.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical information to non-technical C-suite audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building quick views and cube views in OneStream to support reporting.
  • Advanced Power BI features like Row-Level Security (RLS), custom visuals, and deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with other data visualization tools or technologies.
  • Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Certification in Microsoft Power BI or related technologies.
