About the position

As a Microsoft Power BI Support and Development Specialist at SAVVY Technology Solutions LLC, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the business intelligence capabilities of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert end-user support for existing Power BI reports and dashboards utilized throughout the County. This involves not only maintaining and troubleshooting these reports but also designing and developing new custom-built data models and reports tailored to meet specific business needs. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to understand their requirements, translating these into technical tasks that result in coherent and actionable reports that align with business objectives. In this role, you will leverage your proficiency in Power BI, utilizing tools such as Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder to create insightful dashboards. Your expertise in DAX formulas and experience with diverse data sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, SAP BW, and Salesforce, will be essential in connecting Power BI to these systems. You will also be responsible for adhering to best practices in Power BI development, ensuring that data modeling standards, security protocols, and visual optimization techniques are followed. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing reports, troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing necessary enhancements. Your role will also involve training and supporting end-users, guiding them on how to effectively utilize Power BI to derive insights from their data. This position requires a strong problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy custom reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI that meet business requirements and provide actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business intelligence requirements, translating them into technical specifications and useful reports.
• Connect Power BI with various data sources and services, including SQL Server, Oracle, SAP BW, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing Power BI reports and dashboards, including troubleshooting issues and implementing enhancements.
• Adhere to best practices in Power BI development, including data modeling standards, security, and visual optimization.
• Work closely with other developers, project managers, and business analysts to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Offer training and support to end-users and provide guidance on effective use of Power BI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in developing reports with Microsoft Power BI.
• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder.
• Proficiency using DAX formulas in Power Query.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, SAP BW, Salesforce, and other data sources.
• Experience writing queries and creating intricate semantic models.
• Familiarity with SSRS and similar reporting tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Microsoft BI stack with Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.
