About the position

The Power BI Developer position is a senior-level role focused on delivering end-to-end data solutions using Power BI. The developer will work independently under the guidance of a Product Manager, transforming requirements into data models, reports, and dashboards while ensuring performance and security. This role requires strong SQL skills and extensive experience in Power BI, with a focus on creating flexible user-defined experiences and collaborating closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Work independently under the Product Manager to deliver internal projects by turning requirements into data models, reports, and dashboards.
• Create end-to-end dashboards and communicate with the product owner, tracking development timelines and RAID logs.
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with the Product Manager to learn and apply data schemas, metrics, and visual standards.
• Collaborate with clients and the Product Manager to refine technical requirements.
• Work with the data engineering and data architecture team to ensure data flows and availability.
• Design and implement interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI, following best practices and standards for development.
• Include drill-through, drill-down, and tool-tips for end-user interaction in reports.
• Ensure reports meet performance benchmarks and configure appropriate refresh schedules.
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and conduct unit tests, working with QA/QC and conducting UAT.
• Document data models, report structures, and logic used in data product development.
• Participate in daily stand-ups.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of overall development experience.
• 5+ years of Power BI development demonstrating advanced skills.
• 8+ years of SQL experience modeling data and writing complex queries.
• Extensive experience with Power BI, including Bookmarks, Custom Visuals, and Field parameters.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end processes and business value delivery.
• Experience with GIT for version control.

Nice-to-haves

• Object-Oriented Framework development experience.
• Familiarity with Miro.
