About the position

The Power BI Developer role involves designing and developing impactful reporting solutions using Power BI. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that reporting solutions align with departmental governance standards. The developer will work autonomously to drive efficiencies and support key business decision-making through data-driven automation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep expertise in data, data models, database structures, and data behaviour to design impactful reporting solutions.
• Operate autonomously, making informed decisions with limited oversight.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and assess requirements, then design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain sustainable reporting solutions.
• Create engaging and informative dashboards and reports using Power BI, applying appropriate chart types and visualizations to clearly convey insights.
• Identify and resolve performance issues in reports and dashboards by optimizing data queries, models, and refresh rates.
• Adhere to team methodologies, processes, standards, and documentation requirements.
• Contribute to SETF's Spark initiative by delivering innovative solutions across various technologies, recommending the best-fit tools for each project.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of data models, database structures, and data behaviour.
• Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions with limited oversight.
• Experience in collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and assess requirements.
• Proficiency in creating dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve performance issues in reports and dashboards.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with data governance standards and methodologies.
• Experience with other data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of SQL and database management.
