About the position

The Sr. PowerBI Developer will play a crucial role in a large enterprise reporting initiative for a Fortune 200 client in Downtown Houston. This position focuses on creating actionable insights through advanced analytics and data visualization, developing dashboards and scorecards, and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The role requires a strong technical background in PowerBI, DAX, and SQL, along with the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all projects and data developed are value-adding and provide actionable insights.
• Builds new data tables and makes adjustments to existing tables.
• Analyzes data to anticipate changes in reporting needs.
• Communicates clearly and efficiently with internal business members.
• Ensures appropriate statistical significance in insights and educates stakeholders on analysis design and interpretation.
• Analyzes requests to ensure they are prioritized appropriately and value-adding.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Commits to the quality of data sets and reporting, ensuring they are repeatable and sustainable.
• Monitors the value proposition of reporting/analysis during production and communicates with stakeholders.
• Proactively identifies, prioritizes, and conducts analysis that drives meaningful change on KPIs and objectives.
• Logs all requests for data, reporting, and analysis.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
• Presents to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Interfaces with the data architecture team to troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Joins large, disparate data sets to uncover actionable insights.
• Acts as a hands-on analytical business partner to solve complex business questions through data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Information Sciences, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• 4 - 7 years of related experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Advanced analytics skillset.
• Advanced data visualization skills.
• Proficient in PowerBI and Power Apps.
• Experience with DAX Studio or Tabular Editor.
• Report optimization and tuning using DAX measures.
• Thorough ability to document data and ongoing projects.
