About the position

HomeSafe Alliance is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer and Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support data analytics initiatives, transforming complex datasets into insightful visualizations that aid decision-making across various departments. The position requires collaboration with business units to understand their data needs and foster data awareness within the organization, ultimately driving data-driven decision-making to improve products and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into effective data visualization solutions.
  • Utilize statistical methods to perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into PowerBI.
  • Work closely with DBAs, data engineers, security, and other Information Technology personnel to achieve objectives according to standards and governance.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all outputs working as a team.
  • Create and maintain documentation for developed dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Monitor key performance indicator KPI metrics regularly and provide timely updates to stakeholders, highlighting areas of improvement and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the effective use of the PowerBI tools.
  • Stay updated with the latest PowerBI features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve reporting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
  • Proven 2+ years' experience in data analysis, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data analytics or data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field; (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient with PowerBI data visualization tool, including Power Query, Data Analysis Expression (DAX), and PowerBI Service.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Agile practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Optional, preferred skills in Python or R; AWS/Google Cloud/Azure; familiarity with Power Automate, UIPath, or related toolsets.
