About the position

The Power BI Engineer role focuses on developing and managing Power BI reports and dashboards, utilizing Power Platform tools to enhance business processes within the healthcare sector. The position requires a strong understanding of healthcare data and compliance standards, along with hands-on experience in Power BI and related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring high-quality visualization and insights.
  • Utilize Power Apps and Power Automate to streamline business processes, develop custom applications, and automate workflows.
  • Build and maintain complex data models, connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL, Azure, Excel, etc.), and ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Leverage knowledge of healthcare industry standards (e.g., ICD-10, HL7, HIPAA) to ensure compliance and relevance in the reports and analytics solutions.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks within Power BI Service, including user management, access control, workspace management, and data security.
  • Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance, ensuring quick load times and responsiveness.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Power BI reports, Power Apps, and Power Automate processes.

Requirements

  • Overall 9+ years Industry Experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and 2+ years Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data, regulations (HIPAA), and industry-specific reporting requirements.
  • Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience integrating with various data sources.
  • Experience in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of Azure services is a plus.
  • Ability to manage Power BI Service, configure workspaces, and assign permissions.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Power Platform certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
