About the position

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Power BI Programmer/Developer to join their Information Technology and Corporate Services team. This role involves developing and implementing high-quality applications, particularly focusing on Power BI for data visualization and reporting. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely and is aimed at professionals who are passionate about using technology to solve complex environmental and civil infrastructure challenges.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in data modeling and designing interactive reports in Power BI Desktop.
• Connect to and transform various data sources for use in Power BI reports.
• Publish reports to the Power BI Service and manage workspace permissions.
• Write and optimize SQL scripts and stored procedures for data extraction and manipulation.
• Maintain and enhance existing reporting systems, including those utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Assist in producing ad-hoc data queries and reports.
• Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage and troubleshoot incoming incident and service management requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum of five years of IT industry-related experience in programming and development.
• Proficiency in Power BI, .NET, C#, and SQL programming.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Programming best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with claims-based security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, Active Directory, and SSO.
• Practical experience with source control systems like SVN/GIT/TFS/Azure DevOps/GitHub.
• Proven experience working with Entity Framework and PowerShell scripting.

• Experience developing secure RESTful APIs and Services.
• Exposure to Blazor Server and Web Assembly applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
