About the position
Perficient Inc. is seeking an experienced Power BI Report Developer to contribute to a multi-year initiative focused on transitioning from mainframe applications to a modern, cloud-based system. This role involves creating sustainable, automated dashboards and reporting solutions that drive efficiencies and support key business decision-making through data-driven automation and reporting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and maintain them in alignment with department governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate deep expertise in data, data models, database structures, and data behavior to design impactful reporting solutions.
- Operate autonomously, making informed decisions with limited oversight.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and assess requirements, then design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain sustainable reporting solutions.
- Create engaging and informative dashboards and reports using Power BI, applying appropriate chart types and visualizations to clearly convey insights.
- Identify and resolve performance issues in reports and dashboards by optimizing data queries, models, and refresh rates.
- Adhere to team methodologies, processes, standards, and documentation requirements.
- Contribute to the team's Spark initiative by delivering innovative solutions across various technologies, and recommending the best-fit tools for each project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in SQL.
- Expertise in Power BI, Power BI Report Builder, Power Platform, SAS Enterprise Guide, and other BI tools to create actionable business insights.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps), and SharePoint is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse project teams.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving and design capabilities.
- Data modeling experience and Microsoft certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and/or Collibra is an advantage.

- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps), and SharePoint is preferred.
