About the position

This position is focused on supporting the sustainment of Power BI applications within the DOS E&E Department. The role involves collaborating with business lines to define objectives, manage existing BI solutions, and ensure data accuracy and reliability. The individual will also assist in training end-users and resolving system issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Support DOS Power BI and applications sustainment efforts.
• Scope BI solution sessions with business lines to capture business objectives and prioritize opportunities.
• Play a primary role in the sustainment of existing Power BI solutions, focusing on availability and reliability.
• Extract, transform, and load data using SQL under the direction of the Report Development Lead.
• Create mock-up reports for proof-of-concept reviews.
• Support end-to-end data lifecycle management, reviewing data loads for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist DOS Business lead in developing system reporting solutions based on business needs.
• Create, validate, execute, and document test cases with the DOS Business lead.
• Assist in the development of end-user training and reference materials.
• Perform or assist in end-user training activities.
• Assist in implementation go-live and post-go-live activities.
• Support user requests to research system problems or errors and assist in their resolution.

Requirements

• Experience with Power BI and data visualization tools.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Strong analytical skills to assess business needs and data accuracy.
• Ability to create training materials and conduct training sessions.
• Experience in managing BI solutions and understanding data lifecycle management.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with contract management and maintenance processes.
• Experience in creating mock-up reports and proof-of-concept reviews.
