About the position
The PowerBI Report Developer will play a crucial role in a large-scale data governance project within a financial services organization. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and Python, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources
- Utilize Python for data analysis, automation of reporting tasks, and enhancing existing reporting processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards
- Provide support and training to end-users on report usage and best practices
- Document processes, data sources, and reporting methodologies for future reference
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data visualization and reporting
Requirements
- 3+ years as a report developer or in a similar role within the financial services industry
- Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX functions and report design
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience with Python for data analysis and automation tasks
- Familiarity with financial data and metrics
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
