About the position

The Power BI Senior Analyst at AlixPartners plays a crucial role in the Strategic Finance Technology and Data team, focusing on transforming financial and operational data into insightful reports and dashboards. This position is designed for individuals who are adept at data analysis and visualization, particularly using Power BI, and who are eager to contribute to business decision-making and support the firm's global strategy. Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into clear, accurate, and actionable design/implementation plans.
• Create models, specifications, workflows, and diagrams that contribute to the successful delivery of data analytics solutions and technology.
• Develop semantic models, analytical models, reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI and other tools in alignment with business requirements.
• Collaborate with IT and other functions throughout the development lifecycle; enforce best practices and refine requirements where necessary.
• Provide support for existing solutions and services provided by the Strategic Finance Data and Technology team.
• Test and validate deliverables for completeness and data accuracy.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues; collaborate with business functions and team members to determine root cause and propose appropriate functional solutions.
• Perform additional responsibilities as identified.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, or related field preferred, or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience designing and developing dashboards and reports; minimum 2 years using Power BI.
• Experience in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and M Query; certification in Power BI is preferred.
• Solid understanding of security models in Power BI and the ability to implement row-level restrictions.
• Demonstrated proficiency with relational and non-relational databases; experience with SQL scripting is a must; experience with R and Python is preferred.
• Prior experience with financial or operational data analysis in a consulting or professional services firm is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet delivery commitments while maintaining accuracy.
• Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers.
• Solid understanding and proven experience in requirements definition and management techniques including business process, use case, workflow, and data modeling.
• Proven analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
• An appetite for continuous learning and development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Power BI is preferred.
• Experience with R and Python is preferred.
