About the position

The Navy Power BI and SharePoint Administrator will support data visualization, reporting, and collaborative platforms within Navy operations. This role involves managing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and SharePoint sites to facilitate decision-making, streamline workflows, and enhance communication across teams. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of Navy requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to support Navy operations
  • Manage data connections and ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of data sources
  • Implement data analytics solutions to provide actionable insights for mission-critical decisions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI performance or functionality issues
  • Design and manage SharePoint sites, libraries, and workflows to support collaboration and data management
  • Configure and maintain permissions, ensuring secure access for authorized personnel
  • Oversee SharePoint updates, migrations, and integrations with other systems
  • Create and maintain documentation for SharePoint processes and guidelines
  • Work closely with Navy teams to understand requirements and tailor solutions
  • Train personnel on the use of Power BI and SharePoint tools to enhance productivity
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to ensure seamless operation of systems
  • Ensure compliance with Navy and DoD data security policies and protocols
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and implement updates to address potential risks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Power BI and SharePoint administration
  • Proficiency in creating Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, workflows, and site management
  • Knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and compliance standards (e.g., RMF, NIST)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Navy or DoD IT environments
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint integrations
  • Knowledge of Navy-specific systems and protocols
  • Certification in Power BI, SharePoint, or related tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
