About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Power BI Solution Consultant to support the Commercial, Consumer, and Investment Banking Technology team in data and analytics. The role involves creating software solutions using Microsoft Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Power Query, while ensuring that reporting solutions are scalable, performant, and secure. The consultant will participate in planning sessions, develop interactive reports and dashboards, implement data strategies, and collaborate with various stakeholders to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and design sessions of Power BI reporting solutions.
• Architect, design, and develop scalable, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Design and implement Power BI data strategies and models for complex reporting and analytics.
• Create Composite Data Models by integrating data from disparate sources into Power BI.
• Implement security measures within Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Develop test plans and conduct thorough testing of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Document software defects, resolve, and re-test to ensure quality and reliability.
• Draft training materials and assist Business Analysts in providing training to end users.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Solicit feedback from business stakeholders to gather insights on delivered Power BI reports.
• Serve as a technical leader within the project team, mentoring junior developers.
• Lead complex technology initiatives with broad impact.
• Act as a key participant in developing standards and best practices for technology solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
• Review and analyze complex technology solutions for business objectives and technical challenges.
• Make decisions in developing standard practices for engineering and technology solutions.
• Collaborate with technical experts and senior technology teams to resolve complex issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Experience with Power BI administrative features such as managing users, workspaces, and data sources.
• 5+ years of experience with data and analytics specifically with Power BI.
• 4+ years' experience developing Power BI dashboarding and reporting products.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical disciplines.
• 4+ years of experience working within an agile team.
• Experience communicating with stakeholders across different lines of business.
• Experience leading projects or initiatives and mentoring junior engineers.
