About the position

The Power BI Solutions Engineer at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for managing the bank's data analytics platform, specifically focusing on Power BI Premium Capacity and Microsoft Fabric. This role requires both technical and administrative expertise to implement and optimize data-driven insights across the organization, supporting the bank's cloud-first strategy. The engineer will work closely with various business units to provide advanced reporting solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee setup and management of Power BI Premium Capacity, implementing best practices for workload optimization and transition planning to Microsoft Fabric.
• Liaise with administrators for proper group management, access control, and compliance in Power BI settings using Office 365 and Entra (Azure AD).
• Configure Power BI gateway servers and integrate with databases like Snowflake for accurate, real-time analytics.
• Develop schedules for automated refreshes and maintain data flows to enhance business intelligence accuracy.
• Connect Power BI with Power Apps and Power Automate to enable automated workflows and improve reporting processes.
• Collaborate with business units to translate complex requirements into technical solutions and guide Power BI adoption through training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 10 years of IT experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Power BI Premium Capacity.
• Advanced understanding of Power BI SaaS, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Entra, and Office 365's administrative portal.
• Skilled in monitoring cloud analytics performance and troubleshooting Power BI availability.
• Proficient in managing data flows for automated, high-quality reporting.
• Proven ability to collaborate with data strategy teams to align BI capabilities with business needs.
