About the position

Are you a skilled Microsoft Power BI specialist looking for an exciting project opportunity? We're seeking an independent contractor to join our team at Live to Play Sports. In this role, you'll dive into designing and developing solid data models and reports. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop efficient data models to support robust analytics and reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and optimal performance in Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Create, optimize, and troubleshoot complex DAX expressions to deliver accurate calculations and insights.
  • Develop measures, calculated columns, and tables to meet specific business needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data models, DAX expressions, and data collection processes.
  • Design and implement back-end solutions to enable seamless data collection from various third-party sources.
  • Integrate third-party data with existing data warehouses and ensure data consistency.
  • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate data ingestion and transformation.
  • Administer the Power BI platform including security structure, dashboard design, creation of dashboards and cubes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders such as IT, Sales Operations, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure alignment on data strategies and reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on Power BI tools and reports.
  • Document data models, DAX expressions, and back-end processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Power BI developer with excellent track record.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, DAX expressions, query language and Power BI development.
  • Ability to architect end-to-end BI solutions, including data ingestion, storage, and presentation layers.
  • Experience with implementing back-end infrastructure and ETL processes.
  • Experience in SQL, mySQL and other data manipulation languages.
  • Proficiency with third-party data integration and APIs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft/Power BI certification highly desirable.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $28.00/hr to $50.00/hr.
