About The Position

The Power BI/SQL Developer role at DataStaff, Inc. is a long-term contract opportunity focused on enhancing data quality through the development of reports and dashboards. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with technology or data organizations required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server SQL development, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• 3 years of experience in writing complex DAX queries.
• 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server data modelling and schema design.
• 3 years of experience working in an Agile development environment.
• 5 years of ability to work independently and as part of a team that includes business and technical stakeholders.
• 5 years of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• 5 years of strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience in Pensions Benefit Management programs.
• 2 years of experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
• 2 years of knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
• 2 years of familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• 1 year of Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent.
• 1 year of other relevant certifications in SQL, Data Analysis, and database management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overall Power BI/SQL Support related to the Data Quality Enhancement initiative and other development efforts.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all business data and adhere to data security policies.
• Meet all deliverables within the agreed upon timeframe.
• Provide regular status updates and attend various meetings as required.
• Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Create interactive visualizations, reports, and dashboards that assist with effective monitoring of Critical Data Elements.
• Advise on best practices in data visualization and report optimization.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable reports.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Develop DAX queries to enhance the performance and functionality of reports.
• Develop reports to support KPIs and other performance indicators.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and SQL tools.
• Review existing SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Index(s) to determine performance enhancements for long running queries.
• Provide alternative options to existing data manipulation techniques.
