About the position

The Power BI/SQL Developer position at Infoorigin Inc. involves developing, designing, and maintaining Power BI reports and SQL databases to meet business requirements. The role focuses on enhancing data quality, providing user training, and ensuring adherence to data security policies while delivering project milestones on time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations aligned with business requirements.
  • Use DAX and SQL for data retrieval, performance optimization, and reporting enhancements.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Support the Data Quality Enhancement initiative by managing processes, documentation, and performance.
  • Develop reports for monitoring Critical Data Elements and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Review and enhance existing SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Indexes to improve performance.
  • Train and support end-users on Power BI and SQL tools.
  • Provide alternative solutions to optimize existing data manipulation methods.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to VRS data security policies.
  • Deliver project milestones within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide status updates and attend meetings as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Power BI development, creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • 5+ years of SQL Server development, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in DAX for report enhancement and optimization.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, schema design, and SQL performance tuning.
  • Proven ability to work in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pension benefits management programs.
  • Familiarity with additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
  • Programming experience (Python or R) and knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate).
