About the position
The Power Delivery Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project management activities within the energy and utilities sector, focusing on fostering company culture, managing internal and external relationships, and ensuring project success through effective leadership and collaboration with design teams. This role involves maintaining project schedules, budgets, and status reports while actively engaging with clients and participating in proposal development.
Responsibilities
- Foster company culture and manage relationships both internally and externally
- Oversee project status reports, invoicing, accounts receivable, and unbilled items for each project
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure project success
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the project team
- Maintain schedules, lead project status meetings, manage budgets, and actively participate in proposal development and client interactions
- Primarily work within Power Delivery, with potential collaboration across other departments depending on the project
- Travel locally within the region to meet with clients
Requirements
- Familiarity with regional utility companies (i.e. Duquesne)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
- Proven project management expertise, including CPM scheduling, budget oversight, team leadership, proposal development, client engagement, and project presentations
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant professional experience in the electric power sector
- 10+ years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in project management
- Experience managing small- to medium-scale projects or leading engineering teams
- Strong understanding of project management tools and processes
- General knowledge of transmission systems
