About the position

MasTec Professional Services provides results-driven engineering, design, and integrated services to the power, oil & gas pipeline, and gas distribution industries. The Power Distribution Drafter will play a crucial role in power distribution projects, focusing on project design, field surveys, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to deliver cost-effective and high-quality infrastructure solutions. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that engineering design packages, including drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and procedures, are thoroughly reviewed and meet the necessary standards. The role involves performing basic to intermediate engineering designs and surveying existing utility field conditions. The Drafter will document these conditions using GPS and conventional survey methods, contributing to design modifications aimed at improving project quality and processes. Effective communication is essential, as the Drafter will need to interact with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The position demands excellent organizational and time management skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments. Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions, around energized equipment, and in confined spaces. The role may also involve significant physical demands, including standing or walking on uneven ground, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
