About the position

The Power Market Project Manager will support electric utilities in making informed decisions regarding generation and power supply planning. This role involves overseeing projects related to new generation facility construction, retirements, retrofits, and power purchase decisions. The Project Manager will engage with various industry entities, conduct sales and marketing activities, and manage a team of consultants and engineers to deliver actionable insights and solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage client relationships through marketing and project interactions.
• Identify new sales opportunities and lead proposal development including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Lead project execution, ensuring quality control of deliverables and effective communication of project status to stakeholders.
• Mentor and train less experienced staff on technical and business aspects of projects.
• Serve as a recognized industry leader in power generation planning and evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, computer science, data science, or a similar field from an ABET accredited program.
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in consulting services to electric utilities, including 3 years managing projects.
• Strong knowledge of power supply planning software, preferably PROMOD, and familiarity with other software like Plexos or EnCompass.
• Extensive knowledge of electric power options, generation facility types, and power system operations.
