About the position

The Power Market Project Manager will support electric utilities in making informed decisions regarding generation and power supply planning. This role involves overseeing the construction, retirement, and retrofitting of generation facilities, as well as managing power purchase decisions. The Project Manager will engage with various industry stakeholders, conduct sales and marketing activities, and lead a team of consultants and engineers to deliver actionable insights and solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of projects from business development to execution and quality management.
  • Develop and manage client relationships through marketing and project interactions.
  • Lead proposal development, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Ensure quality control of project deliverables and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff on technical and business aspects of projects.
  • Lead multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts in project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, computer science, data science, or a related field from an ABET accredited program.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineering or consulting projects.
  • Strong knowledge of power supply planning software, preferably PROMOD or similar tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of electric power options, including generation facility types and costs.
  • Proven ability to lead and educate a team of engineers and analysts.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with power supply purchase agreements and their terms.
  • Willingness to learn new service offerings as market needs change.
  • Ability to negotiate with clients for new service agreements.
