In this position, the engineer will leverage their technical, strategic, and organizational expertise to assist a multidisciplinary team in managing critical mechanical utility assets throughout their lifecycle. This work is crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of existing systems while also providing technical and strategic support for modernization and improvement initiatives. Essential job functions include leading and supporting ADM's safety policies, maintaining ownership of the energy balance model for utility-scale cogeneration of electricity and steam, and providing engineering leadership to resolve complex problems. The engineer will also support and drive progress on ADM's sustainability and conservation goals, perform as a Utilities SME during capital project development and design reviews, generate equipment specifications, and research modern technologies that enhance efficiency and optimization. Evaluating system and equipment failures, collaborating to determine root causes, and providing technical support and training to others are also key responsibilities. The role requires routine work around boiler systems with elevated temperatures and pressures, necessitating a strong commitment to safety and compliance with all jurisdictional code requirements.
