The Power Process Engineer is a vital member of the North America Engineering and Technology Center located at ADM's Decatur, Illinois Ag-Processing Complex. This role is part of a specialized team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) dedicated to driving excellence within ADM's manufacturing system. As a Power Process Engineer, you will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and other SMEs throughout the organization, focusing primarily on the utilities sector. Your main responsibility will be to develop and implement utility improvement strategies and technologies across all campus functions, with a particular emphasis on ADM's utility-scale cogeneration facility. In this position, you will leverage your technical, strategic, and organizational expertise to assist a multi-disciplinary team in managing critical mechanical utility assets throughout their lifecycle. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of existing systems while providing technical and strategic support for modernization and improvement initiatives. As a recognized leader in your field, you will collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to ensure continuity and consistency of service across various manufacturing locations. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting ADM's safety policies, maintaining ownership of the energy balance model for utility-scale cogeneration of electricity and steam, and providing engineering leadership to resolve complex problems. You will also support ADM's Sustainability and Conservation Goals, act as a Utilities SME during capital project development and design reviews, generate equipment specifications, and research modern technologies that enhance efficiency and optimization. Additionally, you will evaluate system and equipment failures, perform fieldwork, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and provide technical support and training as needed. Documentation and updates for the Front End Loading (FEL) process and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will also be part of your responsibilities, along with routine work around boiler systems with elevated temperatures and pressures.
