About the position

The Power Systems Data Center Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and ensuring the proper operation of power systems equipment. This role involves conducting load bank testing, oil sampling, and identifying safety issues, while adhering to safety standards and customer care protocols. The technician will also communicate equipment status to supervisors and customers, and may participate in training and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all scheduled preventative maintenance services including fluid and filter replacement.
  • Operate equipment to ensure correct operation before and after all preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct load bank testing in accordance with client, state, and local specifications.
  • Perform scheduled oil sampling (SOS) accurately and send samples to the lab.
  • Identify potential safety problems on equipment through walk-around inspections and report them to the supervisor and/or customer.
  • Use web-based STW, SIS, and ET effectively to obtain machine specifications and assist with parts orders.
  • Complete factual service reports, load bank reports, and inspection reports at the end of each day.
  • Communicate equipment issues and status to customers and supervisors.
  • Adhere to all customer care standards and safety policies.
  • Participate in training and support corporate strategic programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Associates Degree or technical training from an accredited vocational school preferred.
  • One year of similar experience working on power systems equipment preferred.
  • Current driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

  • Ability to work overtime with minimal notice.
  • Ability to drive for long periods of time.
