About the position

Eaton's Electrical Engineering and Services (EESS) division is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to provide technical consultation and engineering services in power systems studies, design, installation, and maintenance. The role involves self-managing projects, collaborating with sales engineers and project managers, and performing various power system analyses to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
  • Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Interpret specifications and customer inquiries to design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
  • Collaborate with a team of sales engineers, project managers, and electrical contractors to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Perform Short-Circuit, LV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies.
  • Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, and solutions relating to increased safety, reliability, or efficiency.
  • Perform Harmonic Analysis and design electrical distribution systems, including modeling and mathematical calculations for Load Flow, Voltage Drop, Power Factor Correction, Fault, and Grounding analyses.
  • Collect field data to gather information on customers' existing electrical distribution equipment to complete a variety of power system studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with an anticipated graduation date no later than May of 2025.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience performing short circuit or Arc-Flash studies.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.
  • Bachelor's degree focused in power systems.
  • IEEE Membership.
  • Graduated Field Service Certification Level II.
