About The Position

Hitachi America, Ltd. has openings for postdoc position in the Energy Solution Laboratory located in Silicon Valley. The laboratory focuses on research, technology innovation, proof-of-concept activities, technical marketing and business development for novel energy solutions, leveraging Hitachi's technologies, reinforcing Hitachi's messaging around IoT technologies, and establishing Hitachi as a leader in big data. Requirements

• PhD with 1-3 years of experiences in power system, power electronics, edge device, cyber security, communication and hardware implementations.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or any other related degree.
• Previous research related to communication and data protocols such as modbus, DNP3, RS485, CAN, MQTT, Kafka, IEEE 61850, WIFI, Cellular, WAN/LAN, AWS, cloud-edge communication, etc.
• Expert knowledge of distribution power flow analytics, nature of electrical loads is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python is a must.
• Familiar with popular database software, i.e. Postgres etc. is preferred.
