About the position

Red Rooster PR is looking for a dynamic Account Executive (AE) or Account Coordinator (AC) to manage media relations and support various account activities. This role involves acting as the account lead for smaller projects and contributing to larger initiatives, requiring a blend of media expertise, strategic thinking, and social media skills. AEs and ACs play a crucial role in maintaining client relationships and driving media success through effective communication and creative storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Act as the account lead on smaller pieces of business and lead individual portions of larger projects.
• Maintain high-level business, trade, and consumer media and influencer contacts.
• Assist with media relations, pitch development, and conference work.
• Support strategic elements such as plan development and client counsel.
• Guide junior staff through pitch challenges and assist with their professional development.
• Research and identify media trends and opportunities for newsjacking.

Requirements

• Proven track record with media relations and understanding of reporter beats and interests.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and thrive under pressure.
• Creative thinking with a history of turning original ideas into media successes.
