Karla Otto New York is seeking an enthusiastic Account Manager for our Fashion Comms division. This role is pivotal in executing compelling public relations programs that drive brand awareness and influence purchase behavior for our luxury clients. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a team player, possessing substantive industry knowledge and strong relationships with fashion media across consumer, trade, and digital platforms. A deep understanding of fashion trends, luxury culture, and ideally jewelry brands is essential. The Account Manager will work closely with clients to ensure their brand vision is effectively communicated and executed through various PR strategies. In this position, the Account Manager will proactively pitch to long lead, short lead, and digital media, securing media coverage, features, and news items that enhance the visibility of our clients. The role also involves drafting PR materials, compiling monthly status reports to track brand progress, and preparing agendas and media updates for client calls. Collaboration is key, as the Account Manager will partner with the Karla Otto events team and outside vendors to ensure seamless execution of brand deliverables. Additionally, the individual will oversee the management of sample ordering and replenishment, manage product send-outs, and lead, encourage, mentor, and develop junior staff members. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably handling multiple luxury labels, and will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication and writing skills. The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, generate innovative ideas, and effectively prioritize tasks is crucial. Confidence in training and directing junior team members is also a key attribute for this role. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required, with knowledge of Fashion GPS being preferred.
