About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Vaco is a critical role responsible for the accurate processing and recording of payroll, ensuring that all financial information is timely and precise. This position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall payroll function, including complex payroll preparations and bi-weekly payroll processing. The Payroll Specialist will ensure that garnishments are processed accurately and on time, maintaining a strong working relationship with legal counsel regarding these matters. Additionally, the role requires the preparation and entry of payroll entries for both monthly and year-end processing, supporting quarter-end and year-end tasks such as W2 preparation and distribution. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for training and supervising Payroll Representatives, responding to employee inquiries about payroll deductions, and ensuring timely payroll tax deposits for both bi-weekly and monthly payrolls. The role includes researching and compiling information for the annual unclaimed property report and maintaining expert knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems. Collaboration with Human Resources and Information Services is essential to resolve any payroll issues that may arise. Adherence to regular, punctual attendance is required as per Orlando Health policies and relevant laws, along with compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Additional duties may include assisting and covering for the Payroll Manager in their absence, participating in payroll and timekeeping system upgrades, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is vital to the smooth operation of payroll functions within the organization, ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex payroll preparations.
  • Assist with the bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Ensure garnishments are processed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years of payroll experience.
  • CPP preferred.
