About the position

The Practice Associate III plays a crucial role in the Department of Radiology by ensuring a welcoming and efficient patient experience. This advanced position involves managing patient intake, scheduling imaging services, and supporting the operational needs of the department. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service and teamwork to enhance patient care and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors.
• Conduct pre-registration, check-in, check-out, and appointments as requested by the physician.
• Obtain and verify required registration and intake information from patients.
• Manage physician's schedule to ensure all authorizations and pre-certifications are obtained.
• Coordinate and schedule appointments, procedures, and specialty services as requested by the physician.
• Function as a liaison between clinical providers, referring physicians, and patients regarding scheduling.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits as needed.
• Assist with onboarding and training new staff.
• Serve as a first point of escalation for complex cases or front desk issues.
• Perform administrative duties related to practice or specialty, including provider support and project participation.
• Answer telephones, make appointments, and manage inquiries appropriately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a medical office environment is required.
• Strong proficiency with medical terminology is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) or similar software is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in a radiology or medical imaging office is preferred.
• Prior experience in Epic is preferred.
