About the position

The Practice Coordinator at St. Luke's plays a crucial role in supporting the medical practice by overseeing the efficient operation of both front and back office functions. This position involves managing staff schedules, maintaining filing systems, and ensuring compliance with billing and insurance requirements. The Practice Coordinator works closely with the Practice Administrator and physicians to ensure the successful operation of the practice and to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documented patient tracking for HF/PH Medications and Prior Authorization.
  • Manage HF/PH Medication Enrollment Forms and knowledge of Medication Couponing.
  • Review CHF patient list and conduct Post Discharge calls.
  • Enter Care Management referrals in Epic.
  • Support Business Plan implementation in conjunction with Practice Administrator and Regional Manager.
  • Provide support for providers, clinical, and clerical staff.
  • Arrange meetings and schedule appointments for physicians.
  • Maintain competence in GE Practice Management system and Master Scheduling.
  • Screen telephone calls and visitors, and sort incoming mail.
  • Distribute correspondence in a timely manner and maintain files of correspondence.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to Physician Billing and patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Facilitate team approach to departmental functions and attend departmental meetings.
  • Work with Practice Administrator and Regional Manager to prepare and monitor financial budgets.
  • Oversee all aspects of billing and financial management in the medical practice.
  • Report issues or process improvements to the Practice Administrator.
  • Manage billing and revenue cycle compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of similar experience in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and management.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medications prescribed by physicians.
  • Experience with computer systems and medical practice billing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workload effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and productivity to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes in healthcare.
